October 2nd, 2019
The McLean Project for the Arts, a local non-profit that does arts promotion and education throughout region, is working with the McLean Community Center to present Artfest on Sunday, October 6, from 10 am to 5 pm. This event, which is expected to draw thousands to Central Park, will feature the work of dozens of local artists exhibiting and selling oil paintings, photography, drawings, crafts, and sculpture in a lively festival atmosphere.
In addition to the outdoor art galleries, there will be a lineup of live musical performances curated by WERA radio host Ken Avis. Kids can take part in the Childrens Art Walk, or participate in one of the several hands-on arts or STEM workshops presided over by local artists and educators. Plenty of food trucks and vendors will be on hand, as well. Check the website for a full slate of musicians and artists scheduled to attend. Admission is free.
